Sarah started poling towards the beginning of 2015. It was a new way of keeping active and a very good escape from work! She moved to DI as a student later that year, and has never looked back. At that time she also jumped at the chance to learn something a little different and took up aerial hoop classes, which she feels has also helped her to become stronger.
I love the variety that pole and aerial brings. You can combine it with any dance style and be yourself. This is one of the reasons I want to teach and give back to the studio – helping others discover somewhere they can have fun, get fit and be themselves, and inspire them to continue their pole journeys and achieve all of their ‘Pole Goals’!
Sarah is yet to compete professionally, but feels that one of the pivotal moments in her own pole journey was performing for the first time at the annual Dance Inspires Christmas Showcase in 2017.
Other than pole, Sarah also enjoys running and classes such as kettlebells, yoga and pilates. Outside of fitness endeavours she loves to bake, read fiction and play board games, as well as the odd crafting project (when she gets the time).
